I’ve been searching this forum and all over the web, but wont seem to find anyone with a similar problem like mine. I recently bought a new Roland TD11 and using Superior Drummer 2.0 with Solo (MAC). I’m getting everything to work okey; the latency (I think), sound, triggering and more BUT. After about 10-30 secounds (it differs) my TD11 does not send out any triggers (or sound or what you want to call it, “signals”) to Superior drummer and I have to restart my TD11 and Superior for it to work again, for 10-30 sec. The module does respond to me changing settings (like to change to a default kit) but don’t even send out sounds from the default kits.

I don’t have a clue why, please, someone, HELP! ? Specs: Roland TD-11kv Macbook Pro Retina mid 2012 (OSX El Capitan 10.11.1) Superior Drummer 2.0 + SOLO Connection: TD11 — (USB) — Macbook Pro Retina Headphones plugged into the TD11 Superior 2.0 Setup: MIDI Device: TD11 Audio Device: TD11 Latency: Tested all from 64, 128, 256 TD11: Custom kit without any sounds OSX Setup (won’t get any sound if I change these I think): Sound out: Built-in-Speekers Sound in: Built-in-Microphone Thanks in advance /Cosmo, the sweedish rookie ?. Said: It could be your USB cable.
Best to use a Roland UM One and the signal( not audio) is MIDI via USB All should be fine but you say Headphones plugged into TD11, that is odd because the “sound” once triggered via Midi/usb into SD2 are only coming from your computer no need to change presets or monitor TD11 at that point. What version of SD2. Is it up to date.?
Okey, I’ll try to buy a new USB cable to try, sounds weird that my USB cable would make my TD-11 to not send out any signals. From what I’ve read the TD-11 acts as an audio-interface and therefor I should plug my headphones into the module instead of in my Mac. You say this is not correct? I’m currently on a trip so can’t see what version but it should be up to date, it did an update two weeks ago when I installed everything.
Any other suggestions? I have been using Midi since Dx7’s Came out and the first Sequencers were born.Thats 30 years ago and i was only 17 years old. A TD11 as far as Audio goes is an interface only unto itself and its internal sound. Lets break it down You play your kit the pads generate a trigger signal the module says hello to those signals and then. The modules “sound engine” via presets on the module will produce sound to whatever Roland have decided for each preset This can be monitored through headphones or output to speakers. Kinda the end of the story except for Triggering “from” the TD11 module “to” a VST/AU computer. In this case SD2 or EZD2 becomes the “sound engine” and from that point the paradigm shifts.
From then on the kit up & down buttons have no affect and audio out of the TD11 are NOT important or needed. You can tweak some pad settings, sensitivity settings but thats about it, the TD11 is not a midi controller as such.
The sounds are now all way better and more real and are solely in the computer environment. Now you mix, change, edit drum sounds on the “Sound Engine” in the computer that are responding to your playing on the kit. The only part the TD11 now has is to convert and send the “Trigger Signals” as “Midi coming from your Pads. You monitor the sound of EZD2 or SD2 usually via a good Interface/Sound Card or Audio outs of the computer. Basically End of story.
I have a feeling you want to Jam along with stuff in your “Mix in “of the TD11 and thats now a bit of a problem. You can use iTunes on your comp and EZD2 at the same time however.
